Hosey's Auto Parts & Service
Family owned and operated, Hosey's Auto Parts & Service, has been a staple in the West Orlando community since 1963. Founder Hosey "Pop" Sessler, Sr. and wife, Coretha Sessler, both had a vision to service the community and have successfully done so throughout the years with various businesses such as a grocery store, a bar, "The Best Spot", and a restaurant.
"I wanted to have a business to service and support our black community in times that others wouldn't and my wife shared that same vision and always supported me." - Pop
In 2010, the company re-opened a new Sunoco Gasoline Station and remodeled the existing Convenience Store. Hosey and his wife, Coretha, transitioned the business to their children, who successfully executed the remodeling project and co-managed the business over the last ten years. In 2019, the family is now remodeling the Automotive Parts and Accessories and the Automotive Repair and Maintenance Businesses. As of 2020, all new Automotive Repair Equipment has been installed at the facility, which consists of three new Automotive Lifts, a new Automotive Alignment System, a new Tire Changing System and a new Tire Balancing System.
In 2024, the company converted to Exxon Mobile.
The children and grandchildren will continue to carry on the Sessler legacy in servicing the community.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., mural located on the side wall of the station was painted in 1986 by Orlando native, Edric Debos. The vision of the mural was originally created to remind us of the impetus of building a strong community to foster inclusion and equality, two of the attributes that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. championed.
